In order to deliver maximum efficiency for every taxpayer dollar, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) forged a strong relationship with Vision. Their immediate operational challenge was to provide vital information technology services on different platforms to all their employees and users at many disparate sites around the country. The EPA needed a partner that it could rely upon to design, deliver and manage the required capabilities over an extended period of time.
Vision installed a telecommunications cable plant for the EPA’s office in Seattle, Washington. The Berk-Tek/Ortronics solution covers the entire 147,000 square feet and 15 stories that the EPA’s 650 employees occupy in this LEED Platinum facility. Almost 4,000 Category-6 UTP workstation cables and 336 backbone optical fiber strands were installed as part of this effort.
As a part of our commitment to 100% customer satisfaction, Vision provides professional services support of the EPA’s Office of Research and Development with Information Technology Infrastructure (ITI) management for over 4,000 end users at 13 sites across the continental United States. The support provided is required to allow the EPA to meet the needs of the management, research, and administrative staff for PC desktop systems (which includes laptops, and PCs used at laboratory instrument controllers) and software; access to local server resources, data, systems, and peripherals, telecommunications equipment, and access to the wide area network and Internet.
Vision’s experience and expert capabilities uniquely position us to partner with customers like the EPA to help maximize IT infrastructure investment and workforce efficiency.
