Vision Technologies Raises Nearly $50K for Stand Up To Cancer from Golf Tournament

May 10, 2019

Vision Technologies, Inc. (Vision), a leading systems integrator with national and global reach, raised nearly $50,000 for Stand Up to Cancer at its 2019 Charity Golf Outing and Design-Build Showcase last week. Each year, Vision selects a charity for its Making Giving a Reality campaign. Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) was chosen as the charity for Vision to support during 2019. This organization enables scientific breakthroughs by funding collaborative, multidisciplinary, multi-institutional scientific research teams and investigators.

After a shotgun start, 140 channel partners, customers and Vision teammates headed out to network and play 18 holes of golf at Waverly Woods Golf Club in Marriottsville, Maryland. Lunch and a technology showcase followed in the afternoon. Contests were held for the longest drive, closest to the hole, hole in one, and others with prizes donated by Vision’s manufacturers and distributors. A 50/50 raffle pulled in $1,610 with the lucky winner walking away with $805 in his pocket.

“Unfortunately everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer,” stated Kevin Nolan, SVP and COO of Vision Technologies. “Our teammates voted SU2C from among several other charitable organizations for our 2019 campaign.” Making Giving a Reality is part of Vision’s culture and core values. There will be many opportunities for charitable contributions to SU2C throughout the year, whether it be through monetary donations or volunteering at fundraising events.

The success of this event was made possible by Title Sponsor Legrand, along with the generosity from companies, such as Chatsworth, Accu-Tech, Wesco, Graybar, CommScope and West Penn Wire.
